Microstructural studies confirmed that no relevant chemical reaction occurred within the foam, in particular in the vicinity of the particle-matrix interfaces. The mechanical properties of the produced FG-MSF were evaluated using quasi-static compression testing. The results showed that the deformation mechanism of the FG-MSF is a mixed mode and varies between the two different filler layers. The energy absorption of the FG-MSF sample was increased compared to uniform syntactic foams containing only a single particle filler.]]> Tue 22 Jun 2021 18:36:18 AEST ]]> Flatwise compression and flexural behaviour of perlite/sodium silicate composite foam https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:31106 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:35:07 AEDT ]]> Ankle proprioception, range of motion and drop landing ability differentiates competitive and non-competitive surfers https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:42795 Mon 05 Sep 2022 09:01:30 AEST ]]> On the compressive behaviour of high porosity expanded Perlite-Metal Syntactic Foam (P-MSF) https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:33287 70 vol%) syntactic foam is in the range of 0.72–0.98 g/cm³, depending on the particle pre-compaction pressure and the number of compaction steps. Compressive testing is carried out following the ISO 13314 standard to characterise the mechanical properties of this novel material. Furthermore, micro-computed tomography scans are performed in order to investigate its meso-structure. The geometrical analysis revealed that the densification procedure generates a porosity gradient in the direction of the compressive force. This gradient is found to affect the deformation mechanism and thus the mechanical properties of high porosity P-MSF.]]> Fri 28 Sep 2018 15:47:20 AEST ]]> Manufacturing and compressive properties of sandwich foam tubes containing metal syntactic foam https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:51711 Fri 15 Sep 2023 14:09:11 AEST ]]> Effect of strain rate on impact behavior of aluminum foam https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:46148 Fri 11 Nov 2022 18:51:47 AEDT ]]>
